Chelan Country Mosquito Control District #3

The Chelan County Mosquito Control District #3 was established in August 2010 by an act of the Chelan County Commissioners. As an independent district we provide mosquito control services to the citizens of our community. In order to provide a comfortable outdoor environment for our residents and reduce the threat of diseases that can be transmitted by mosquitoes, the District encourages property owners to continually monitor known habitats and endeavors to control mosquitoes in the aquatic immature stages before they become flying and biting adult mosquitoes. Additionally, we monitor adult mosquito activity and initiate adult control operations during our mosquito season and especially if mosquito borne disease poses a threat. In conjunction with surrounding Mosquito Control Districts, we coordinate helicopter services used to dispensed control products in a cost-effective method by contracting and utilizing a common spray service.

Successfully controlling mosquitoes, while being sensitive to our Upper Valley’s unique natural habitat and wildlife, is a demanding and important challenge. Today we work within a complex regulatory framework of federal, state and local regulations which govern to a great extent how, when and where we may conduct mosquito control operations. All our vendors are trained and certified in Public Health Pest Control and are committed to providing sound and effective mosquito control to our citizens.

Residents in our Mosquito Control District can subscribe to email notifications of planned mosquito treatments by emailing info@ccmcd3.us and providing your name, subdivision name and lot number. We will make every attempt to notify individuals who sign up for our notification list, however, we may not be able to notify the public if immediate applications are needed, or if technical difficulties prevent your phone or computer from receiving our messages. We may also cancel a scheduled operation due to weather conditions or other unforeseen reasons.
